Ku’damm Steel-Life Sketches

Gabriel Santander, son of Argentinian-Spanish parents, was born in Tunis in 1978. He obtained a Degree (Master’s) in Composition at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (Spain) in 2009 and won the First Prize at the Flora Prieto Composition Competition 2010 with his work “Ko-Tha Palimpsest I”. He has attended Composition courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Jarrell, José María Sánchez-Verdú and Héctor Parra, among others, and Analysis and Orchestration courses with Yvan Nommick, Richard Toop, Samuel Adler and Ertugrul Sevsay. He has collaborated in projects by the Albéniz Foundation with the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía and the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen since 2001 and has participated in Festivals such as Ruidocracia 2008 and Ensems 2010. He is currently living in Berlin studying with Peter Ablinger and the Sound Studies Master of Arts at the Universität der Künste Berlin.
